Documentary Research Outline
- Each group member MUST assign themselves to ONE PART of the outline and begin their research using the MAIN IDEA HANDOUT. Voter Guides are located on the table next to my desk. Please make sure to return all voter guides by end of class.
First, each group must identify the main sections of your outline. What are the main ideas of your topic/issue that you need to elaborate on in your film? Then, each student in the group must choose what section of the outline they are responsible for.
Find ONE trusted source today that connects to your particular section of the outline. Read the article/source you find and complete the Main Idea Handout. Once you have completed the handout transfer the info to your Research Outline. It's a good idea for each student to color code what they add so everyone can see who is working/contributing.
MAIN IDEA HANDOUTS ARE DUE AT THE END OF CLASS TODAY. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PUT YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAMES ON HANDOUT BEFORE TURNING IN. - Each group must generate a list of at least FOUR potential people they can interview: Name, Title, Organization, Contact Info. Start this list at the bottom of your Research Outline. Time permitting, send out an email or two requesting interviews.
